The parts are played AB (Cole, Plain Brown, White), AAB (Athole,<br> Skye) or AABB (Hardings).<br> In Ireland the tune is rendered as a polka under the names "Denis Doody’s",<br> "Glin Cottage Polka",<br> "Glen Cottage Polka",<br> "The Green Cottage",<br> "McAllister’s Fling", "St. Patrick Was a Gentleman" and "St. Patrick Was Your<br> Patron Saint".<br> It was printed in Cole's 1000 Fiddle Tunes (1940),<br> Hardings' All-Round Collection (1905),<br> Kerr's Merry Melodies, vol. 2,<br> MacDonald's The Skye Collection (1887),<br> Plain Brown Tune Book (1997) (appears as “Allister McAllister”),<br> Ryan’s Mammoth Collection (1883),<br> Stewart-Robertson's The Athole Collection (1884) and<br> White’s Unique Collection (1896).<br>
