"Alasdair MacAlasdair", also known as "Alistair", "Allister", "Alister
MacAlastair", "McAlister", "Mac Alasdair", "Little Katie Kearney" is a
Scottish strathspey in A Minor (Kerr, Plain Brown, Skye) or G Minor (Cole,
White). The parts are played AB (Cole, Plain Brown, White), AAB (Athole,
Skye) or AABB (Hardings).
In Ireland the tune is rendered as a polka under the names "Denis Doody’s",
"Glin Cottage Polka",
"Glen Cottage Polka",
"The Green Cottage",
"McAllister’s Fling", "St. Patrick Was a Gentleman" and "St. Patrick Was Your
Patron Saint".
